A new web-based business supporting young people applying to medical school - identity and content-managed website with shop, community and forum.
The client:
Medicas, in Guildford, Surrey, is a new company which provides free on-line distance learning resources for potential medical school applicants.
The issues:
It is very difficult to gain entry into a medical school unless a student can ‘tick all the right boxes’ in terms of credentials – schooling, work experience, funding – and so on. Medicas is run by medical professionals who have personal knowledge and experience of this complex system. They wanted a website where potential medical students, regardless of their background, could access comprehensive modules to ensure they are as prepared as possible in all aspects of the admissions process.
The solution:
- Created a logo and identity to suit the target audience which was attractive for young people but had a professional look and was low-cost
- The website can be easily accessed and a student community forum has been created. All the modules are downloadable
Business advantage:
Medicas has an attractive, fully downloadable free product which appeals to the student community; it uses its database to build relationships amongst the community. The business model is supported by web advertising and sponsorship.
